WHAT WE DO

Hope for Life provides youth with tools to escape homelessness and helps strengthen families through holistic, family-centered, and trauma-informed programs to empower each child’s unique journey from living on the streets to reintegration into their family and society.

HFL’s goal for 2024 is to serve 331 youth and caregivers, including 211 current beneficiaries and 120 new  beneficiaries and caregivers. The new beneficiaries are anticipated to be served within the partnership framework of the National Rehabilitation Service, where HFL can identify children currently experiencing homelessness within three hotspot areas in Kigali.

TRANSITIONAL PROGRAM

The Transitional Program addresses the immediate needs of vulnerable children while equipping them with skills and support systems for long-term stability and well-being, through emergency support, child rights education, psychosocial development, and family tracing and placement.

FAMILY SUPPORT & MONITORING

This program provides services to support families and monitor the well-being of children, including behavioral and school monitoring, trauma-informed therapy/counseling sessions for children, enrollment support for school-related costs, and psychoeducation and therapy sessions for caregivers and families.

FAMILY ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT

Our third program provides economic opportunities for households through initiatives such as financial literacy and vocational skills training, livelihood support, and other income-generating skills development.
